8 DAY TOUR OVERVIEW.

All our 8 Days Tanzania Camping Safari is a little is similar to the 7 days camping safari in Tanzania but has an extended day in the Tarangire national park taking you to all the popular national parks in Northern Tanzania. Accommodation for this safari also features public camps. In one week and one extra day on it, you will get the chance to visit Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti and Tarangire National park. Early morning game drives and nature walks in the Lake Natron and Lake Eyasi will also feature in this safari of eight days in Tanzania.

Day 0: Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport to Arusha.

Welcome to Tanzania. Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport you will meet your safari guide/driver transfer to Arusha city to your Allocated accommodation as requested for dinner and overnight. (45 km, 43 minutes)

 Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Distance: 130km

Non – game viewing time : 3 – 4 hrs

After breakfast from your requested accommodation, you will start your safari to southwest through Maasai steppe land to Tarangire National Park with picnic Lunch boxes.You will spend hours for the day game viewing in Tarangire, viewing some of Tanzania’s largest populations of elephant and enjoying the diverse scenery, including the dramatic baobab trees that are so typical of the park. This park boasts a high concentration of animals, including elephant, zebra, eland, and wildebeest and plenty of predators.
Picnic Lunch will be served at the picnic site where you will have a nice view of Tarangire River overlooking down the valley where most of the animals will be gathering drinking from the river. After Lunch you will proceed with game drives until evening when you will start drive to Karatu for Dinner and Overnight at allocated accommodation as requested.

Day 2: Tarangire to Lake Manyara National Park 

Distance: 190km

Non – game viewing time : 3 – 4 hrs

After breakfast from Kudu Campsite you head to Lake Manyara. Lake Manyara National Park offers breathtaking views and a large variety of habitats. Acacia woodlands, water forests, baobab strewn cliffs, algae-streaked hot springs, swamps and the lake itself. And thanks to this the small Park is able to support a large number of animal species and incredible bird life. Manyara has the largest concentration of baboons anywhere in the world and the lions here are also renowned for their tree climbing. Dinner and Overnight at allocated accommodation as requested.

Day 3 : Lake Manyara to Lake Eyasi

Distance: 110km

Walking Tour

After breakfast you will heard to Lake Eyasi is a very scenic soda lake found on the southern border of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This less visited lake lies at the base of the Eyasi escarpment on the western rift valley wall. This afternoon you will be introduced to the extraordinary people who belong to an indigenous tribe known as the ‘Hadzabe’ (hunter-gatherer Bushmen). The tribe inhabits the shores of Lake Eyasi as do the Nilotic-speaking Datoga tribe. You will visit these tribes, which will include a visit to their homesteads, learn about their way of life, animal tracking, medicinal plants, and much more. Some wildlife and a wide range of bird species can be viewed during walks around the lake, which can be arranged. Dinner and Overnight at Allocated accommodation as requested

Day 4:Lake Eyasi to Ngorongoro crater

Distance: 190km

Non – game viewing time : 3 – 4 hrs

After breakfast to your campsite the tour will depart to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, You will descend over 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife. Supported by a year round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro National Park supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park, is it’s dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. You will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos and other water birds can usually been seen here. Dinner and Overnight at your Allocated accommodation as requested.

Day 5 : Ngorongoro crater to Serengeti National Park 

Distance: 145km

Early morning breakfast the tour depart to Serengeti National Park. You will stopover at Olduvai Gorge, boasting with a history dating back to the dawn of time. It was here, that the anthropologists Dr. Lois and Mary Leakey discovered the skulls of ‘Nutcracker Man’ and ‘Handy Man’, both very significant links in the chain of human evolution. Do an evening games drive in Serengeti . Late evening go back to your requested accommodation for Dinner and Overnight.

Day 6 : Full Day Serengeti Game Drive

Full day game drive in Serengeti after breakfast game viewing drive along the Sogore River Circuit, which loops into the plains south of the Seronera River, and which is good for possible lion, Thomson gazelle, topic, ostrich and cheetah sightings. The visitor’s center not far from the Serengeti Seronera Lodge and public campsites is well worth a visit after the morning’s game drive. This nicely designed center, offers some interesting wildlife displays as well as a gift shop selling information leaflets and maps of the area. The center also has a shop where cold drinks and snacks can be purchased, as well as a picnic area and information trail up and around a nearby kopje. You will enjoy a relaxed picnic lunch at the center in the shade of the giant acacia trees. Dinner and Overnight at allocated accommodation as requested

Day 7: Serengeti National Park to Lake Natron

Distance: 300km

Non – game viewing time : 4 – 5 hrs

After an early breakfast, Do a morning game drive en route towards north Serengeti. Check out of the park at Klein’s gate then transfer to Lake Natron for an early dinner and over night. Go for an evening lake Natron walk for sunset if time permits. Dinner and overnight at Allocated accommodation as requested.

Night ascent & dawn summit bid, Oldoinyo Lengai (seismic conditions permitting). Optional waterfall hike and swim (Depending on what time your flight is leaving). Early afternoon transferred back  to Arusha to your Hotel for Dinner and Overnight or airport drop off .
