DAY 0: Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport to Arusha

Welcome to Tanzania. On arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport you’ll meet your company arranged driver who will transfer you to Arusha city to Green Mountain Hotel for dinner and overnight. Our driver will display your group name on an signboard. These procedures ensure that you are picked up by the correct driver, rather than by some of the airport taxi drivers who are looking for business. You’ll get a chance for Safari briefing/introduction before your dinner.

DAY 01: Arusha to Tarangire.

Distance: 130km

Non – game viewing time: 3 – 4 hrs

Tarangire National Park is the sixth largest national park in Tanzania; it is located in Manyara Region. The name of the park originates from the Tarangire River that crosses the park. The Tarangire River is the primary source of fresh water for wild animals in the Tarangire Ecosystem during the annual dry season. The Tarangire Ecosystem is defined by the long-distance migration of wildebeest and zebras. During the dry season thousands of animals concentrate in Tarangire National Park from the surrounding wet-season dispersal and calving areas. Game drive of the Tarangire National Park (08h00). The Park covers an area of 2600 sq km. It’s the 6th largest park in the country. The park is most spectacular between June and December. During this time thousands of animals migrate from dry Masai steep to Tarangire River, looking for Water. Among other species to be seen at Tarangire are rhino, buffalo, elephant, lion, warthog, eland, the fringe eared Oryx, lesser and greater kudu, gerenuka and large number of impala. Early evening drive back to Karatu to Ngorongoro Forest Tented Lodge for Dinner and Overnight.

DAY 02: Tarangire to Lake Manyara National Park.

Distance: 50km

Non – game viewing time: 2 – 3 hrs

After breakfast the tour departs. Afterwards we head to Lake Manyara. Lake Manyara National Park offers breathtaking views and a large variety of habitats. Acacia woodlands, water forests, baobab strewn cliffs, algae-streaked hot springs, swamps and the lake itself. And thanks to this the small Park is able to support a large number of animal species and incredible bird life. Manyara has the largest concentration of baboons anywhere in the world and the lions here are also renowned for their tree climbing.

DAY 03: Lake Manyara National Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Maasai Boma-Culture Learning.

Distance: 60km 

Non – game viewing time: 1 – 2 hrs

After breakfast the tour will depart to Ngorongoro Conservation area via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu, then you’ll go direct to Ngorongoro Conservation Area Maasai Boma where you’ll be able to learn Maasai culture before you head to Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge for Dinner and Overnight.

DAY 04: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha.

Distance: 210km 

Non – game viewing time: 3 – 4 hrs

In the morning let the sounds of birds and wildlife awake you in the distance. After a warm scrumptious breakfast, hop in your jeep and begin the descent into the “world’s largest Caldera”. One of the best places on this Tanzania Northern Circuit Safari to spot the Famous Big Five – elephants, leopards, lions, buffalo and black rhinoceros.You’ll descend over 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife for a half day’s safari tour. Supported by a year round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro National Park supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park is its dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. You’ll visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater; you’ll have your picnic lunch in the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos and other water birds can usually been seen here. Late afternoon drive from Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha City to your hotel for Dinner and Overnight.
