A Hot Air Balloon Safari is one of the most magical and unforgettable ways to experience the beauty of Tanzania’s wilderness. Your adventure begins early in the morning, before sunrise, as you travel to the launch site. Watch as the balloon is carefully prepared and inflated while the first light of day appears over the vast African plains.

Clients are usually picked up very early in the morning, around 4:00–5:00 AM, depending on the location of their camp or lodge and the balloon launch site.

Sample itinerary:

• 4:00–5:00 AM: Pick-up from camp/lodge
• Around 5:30–6:00 AM: Arrival at the launch site and safety briefing
• Around sunrise: Hot air balloon takeoff
• 45–60 minutes: Balloon flight
• After landing: Bush breakfast and celebration

As the balloon gently rises into the sky, enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Serengeti landscape, endless savannah, winding rivers, forests, and spectacular wildlife below. From above, you may witness herds of wildebeest and zebras moving across the plains, elephants walking through the bush, giraffes feeding among the acacia trees, and other wildlife beginning their day.

The peaceful flight offers a completely different safari experience. Floating silently above the wilderness allows you to appreciate the beauty, scale, and natural rhythm of Africa from a unique perspective. Your experienced pilot will guide the balloon at different heights, sometimes flying high for incredible panoramic views and sometimes descending lower for a closer view of the landscape and wildlife.

After approximately one hour of flying, depending on weather conditions, the balloon lands safely in the wilderness. The experience is traditionally celebrated with a bush breakfast following with champagne, where you can relax and enjoy delicious food and refreshments surrounded by the beautiful African landscape.
